Karen Conner: Owner/Artistic Director

  Karen Conner took her first dance class at the age of six.  Having fallen in love with dance immediately, she has been dancing ever since.  She started attending conventions and workshops as a teenager and was a member of the Montgomery College Dance Company.   Karen has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and pre-school children's work.  She has been teaching ages three to adults in Montgomery County, at various studios in the area since 1990.   She is a graduate of the DMA Teachers Training School and also holds a certificates in Zumba.  Having passed national examinations in ballet, tap and jazz, Karen is proud to be an active member of Dance Masters of America.   Karen has served as Chairperson of the Scholarship Auditions and is currently president of Mid-Atlantic Dance Masters Chapter 17, Mid-Atlantic Area.  Keeping on top of her own education of dance and teaching, she continues to go to various workshops, conventions and Dance Masters Teachers Training School.   Karen has a passion for everything dance and loves to share this enthusiasm with all of her students.

Jennifer Folta - Teitelbaum

Miss Jennifer has over 30 years of experience in the dance industry, and is trained in ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. She began her training in 1980 with Concepts in Motivation in Olney, Maryland, where she studied all styles of dance. Since her time as a student, she has shared her love of dance with children and adults alike. She has been a teacher for almost 20 years, teaching creative movement to young children as well as ballet, tap, and jazz ages four through adult. She is also a jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, high kick, musical theatre, and pom judge for the Mid-Atlantic Pom and Dance Association (MAPDA), and is one of their certified judges for kick-off and spin-off competitions.

Jillian Rindt

Jillian Rindt, from Central New Jersey, took her first dance lesson at age two and was immediately hooked.  She competitively danced from ages 5-18 dancing in various ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and acrobatic routines.  Jillian has participated in numerous conventions and dance programs including the Goucher Summer Arts Intensive as well as the Rockette summer intensive where she performed on the stage at Radio City Music Hall twice.  She graduated from Towson University with a degree in elementary and special education and is currently a 5th grade teacher in Montgomery County public schools.  Jillian is so excited to continue to share her love of dance, especialy acro, with her students at the Studio of Dance!
Julia Harrison Julia discovered her passion for dance at the age of three. She began taking ballet and tap at a local studio. Eager to learn more and expand her repertoire she added jazz and lyrical. At eleven, Julia began taking more ballet at additional studios and attended the Kirov summer intensive. She participated in the pre-professional dance program at CityDance for three years, studying under Mme. Akhmedova. Julia has attended the Dance Masters of America Teacher’s Training School for the past three years. She is preparing to take exams in ballet, tap, and jazz next summer. Julia is very excited to be teaching at The Studio this year.
Sydney Sims Sydney Sims began dancing at the age of three. Originally from Baltimore, MD, she is trained in ballet, modern, jazz, with her true passion being hip hop! While attending the University of Maryland she was a member and captain of the Maryland Dance Team performing pom and jazz routines at football and basketball games. Sydney has previously taught jazz, hip hop, pom and lyrical classes at the Young People's Summer Stock Performing Arts Camp. She is currently a third grade teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools and is very excited to join The Studio of Dance!
